ABOUT TIM LANE
Tim Lane is an award winning illustrator and graphic novelist whose work has been collected in many books on the subject of illustration and design, including All the News That’s Fit to Print (And Some That Wasn’t): Inside the New York Times Op-Ed Page), Graphic: Sketchbooks of The World’s Great Designers And Illustrators, and The Outlaw Bible of American Art, among others. Likewise, his graphic novels are widely acclaimed, having been included in important comic anthologies (We Told You So: Comics As Art, The Best of American Comics), and having been translated into multiple languages.
Lane’s practice varies stylistically, but always maintains a unique and recognizable voice; illustration is, to Lane, a deadline driven, visual collaboration that must serve the needs of the client while maintaining a clear and distinctive style. As a novelist, Lane is interested in manipulating the form and design of comics to create a mashup of storytelling that is intricate, nuanced and unconventional.
