INFOGRAPHICS, GRAPHIC FEATURE STORIES,

MURAL STYLE NARRATIVE ART,

& OTHER ADVENTURES IN ILLUSTRATIVE STORYTELLING

Shown here are a variety of pieces from graphic feature stories and infographics that Tim Lane researched, designed, illustrated, and produced for publications such as The Believer Magazine, Lucky Peach Magazine, and the Riverfront Times. Also shown are illustrated narratives produced with the influence of Thomas Hart Benton and Diego Rivera in mind, as well as murals produced by artists commissioned by the WPA’s Federal Arts One project under Roosevelt’s New Deal during the Great Depression. Lane is fascinated by the potential of illustrated storytelling, and seeks to broaden the scope of this practice by working with other publications in a similar manner.
